SHOW NOTES

How do you approach an “unattainable” dream?

The way I approach is by continue doing the work, finding new ways, and asking for help to achieve that dream. When I was little I thought it was unattainable to listen and see Latina success stories that weren’t hurtful and stereotypical.

Today I’m celebrating the achievement of amplifying 50 inspiring conversations with empowering Latina through Ellas! Each conversation has been unique and life-changing and I hope that you’ve found yourself reflected in them or discover the distinct journeys of each guest. Most importantly, reminded you that you aren’t alone in your journey!

This achievement calls for recognizing another goal we accomplished here at Ellas! Yesterday we launched this website and today, we’re uplifting the empowering voice and journey of Tanya Ortega!

Tanya Ortega is a Fashion Stylist Contributor for Vogue International based in New York with clients such as Vogue México, Vogue Brasil, Vogue Spain and E! News.

In this 50th episode of Ellas, Tanya shares how she was able to chase after and achieve her dreams of working in the fashion industry. Tanya talks about how her mom planted the seed for her love of fashion and the ups and downs of breaking into and growing in her industry.

Another pivotal element of accomplishing your goals is timing! We go in depth about the importance of timing when chasing after those “unattainable” dreams and why you should cultivate meaningful relationships.

For Tanya, she was fortunate to have been surrounded by people that believed in her and cheered her to grow! This wonderful experience also led her to her current mission: to highly involve Hispanic and Latinos to her styling team as a way to pave the road for Latinx talent in an industry that can easily place you in a stereotypical niche.

We couldn’t agree more with Tanya’s mission!

If you’ve been looking for a reminder that doors are being open during this crazy time, I highly recommend you listen to this episode now with Tanya Ortega, so you can feel empowered that our community is planting the necessary seeds and opening the doors to help talented Latinx talent grow in their careers!
