SHOW NOTES

How are you making a positive impact on la cultura?

Marivette Navarrete is amplifying inspiring and profound Latina stories to our diverse Latinx comunidad through The Mujerista.

As the founder of CEO of The Mujerista, a digital publication and network dedicated to empowering and celebrating the stories of the next generation of Latinas. Marivette shares about her journey of creating and growing this important space with me on episode 75 of Ellas.

Marivette has been featured in Forbes and is building a community of millennial Latinas challenging stereotypes and misconceptions, while proudly representing their heritage and making an impact en la cultura.

She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Media/Communications Studies.

Prior to starting The Mujerista, Marivette founded a personal fashion blog, Loud///Tasteless, co-founded the cosmetics brand, Nevermind Cosmetics, and worked as the Social Media Marketing Manager for subscription services BoxyCharm and KnitCrate.

In this full circle moment episode, Marivette opens up to me about suffering of imposter syndrome as a daughter of immigrants and how she has been navigating the journey of growing The Mujerista. She and I also talk about how our parent’s view on us as their oldest daughter fuels our imposter syndrome as we navigate our entrepreneur journey.

We also cover why it’s important to view our past “failures” as lessons learned especially when starting a new venture in our life and how having a team to help us lean into will grow our businesses!
